Ty Watford
As
a young boy Ty would borrow the family camera and spend hours composing abstract
scenes and testing the boundaries of his inexpensive equipment. Although this
behavior was rarely rewarded as a youngster, he continued to create photographic
effects all his life. Living in and around the French Quarter for 16 years, Ty
has used photography as a hobby, a healthy distraction, and a type of therapy,
but never with any expectations or desire of becoming an artist. Though he would
occasionally show his work to certain friends, he has always been a little shy
about it. Only very recently, Ty was persuaded to make his work available.
His long-time girlfriend, who taught him the
craft of fine art framing, convinced him to print a selection of her favorites
so they could create for them, custom, one of a kind frames. The prints and
frames together create a continuous work of art that is as much sculpture as
photography
